With the introduction of new regional trains with blocked composition (EMU), some E464 locomotives have been reassigned to long distance Intercity services, both daily and night, in cases where their speed of 160 km/h is still sufficient to guarantee a good service.
To better match the coaches to which now they are coupled, these locomotives received the new Intercity livery, with white background, grey chassis, roof and fronts in grey, red stripe and grey big stripe on the sides, faded at the ends.
